The first part of this list presents a single foray around Rowhedge/Donyland Wood.
This was a good day, but, oddly, the most outstanding fact was that I could not find a single Speckled Wood.

  6. Green Veined White (common)
  7. Purple Hairstreak (common)
  8. White Letter Hairstreak (regular)
  9. Small Copper (common)
  10. Common Blue (common, much reduced)
  11. Holly Blue (common)
  12. White Admiral (regular since 2004)
  13. Small Tortoiseshell (common)
  14. Peacock (common)
  15. Red Admiral (common)
  16. Comma (common)
  17. Gatekeeper (common)
  18. Ringlet (common)
  19. Meadow Brown (common)

Not sighted on this day, but met with here in Rowhedge on other occasions are:

  1. Speckled Wood (common)
  2. Wall Brown (previously regular, 1 sighting in recent years)
  3. Small Heath (common)
  4. Brown Argus (returned in recent years, regular)
  5. Brimstone (previously scarce, recently regular)
  6. Orange Tip (common)
  7. Clouded Yellow (occasional, 2 sightings, 2004 and 2013)
  8. Painted Lady (common in most years)
  9. Green Hairstreak (regular/scarce)
  10. Silver Washed Fritillary (regular/scarce, since 2018)
